Our best seller for nature lovers, Amma’s Hut is a “Hut” close to Kallady Beach, with an authentic “Amma” (Mother in Tamil) to look after you, (over)feed you, tell you not to come back too late, and reinvent communication in broken English to inquire about your dinner. You can also pet Amma’s cats, enjoy the birds’ songs in a sandy garden… and have a peaceful rest guarded by the stars…
SWEET MARY’S GARDEN
With a wee bit of shyness, but a great bowl of kindness, Mary and her children Nesan and Abi receive our guests since 2015, in their cute little garden in Kallady. A simple and tranquil place, not far from the beach, where Nesan can give you a ride with his 3-wheeler, while his mother is busy looking after your meals…
PUSPA ILLAM
Yes it is very basic… but the normal way of life in the village of Kudumbimalai. Here we sleep on the floor, you’ll also do this. We bathe at the well, come we’ll show you how to do this… There is no electricity… don’t worry, we can live without! Planted on the beach, the house is home for Sandrine and Bibidee, her cat. You’ll be welcome to look after the plants in the garden, or to relax with a good book and a sweet tea under the stars…
DILU’S HOMESTAY
Dilu’s family has started welcoming guests this year, and it looks like these guests have loved the experience! The family members’ attention to their guests and Jothy’s great cooking skills make this homestay an ideal place to interact with a gentle Sri Lankan family.
